Checking Where a Referral was Sent
Users may view the status of referral at all stages, including which provider it has been sent to. For further information see below:
  • If the referral is located within the ‘Pending’ tab, check the status:
  • If the status indicates ‘Awaiting confirmation’ or ‘Awaiting assessment’ the provider who was selected as ‘Preferred provider (indicative triage decision)’ has not yet accepted it.
  • In order to view the provider selected, users may click on the referral to view the information which is located under the heading of ‘Patient Choice’ (towards the bottom of the screen).
  • If the status indicates ‘Awaiting triage’ then the referral is located with a clinical triage'r commissioned by a Local Area Team and, is not yet visible to the provider selected as ‘Patients preferred provider (indicative triage decision)’.
  • If you wish to follow this up with a provider, please contact the chosen provider directly.
Please note: Providers will vary in the time in which they process and accept referrals. Once a referral has been accepted, this will be shown in the status and relevant tab; it will also appear as a note on the right hand side of the referral (once accessed). 
 
It is also important to check that the referral has been sent rather than saved.
